Sweden and Denmark to join the multinational fleet of the MMF program of aerial refueling aircraft
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has ordered two more A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft from Airbus.

The two aircraft will be delivered in 2028 and 2028 and will expand the Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) to 12 aircraft.
The MMF Program was created by the Netherlands and Luxembourg and now includes the participation of Norway, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
Now Sweden and Denmark have just joined the group as NATO members. According to Airbus, these nations have the exclusive right to operate NATO-owned A330s.
“The expansion of the Multinational MRTT Fleet with two additional aircraft and the addition of Sweden and Denmark to the programme underscores Europe’s commitment to collective defence and strategic autonomy,” said Jean-Brice Dumont, Head of Air Power at Airbus Defence and Space.

The Airbus A330 MRTT has a fuel capacity of up to 111 tons and can transport up to 300 troops or a payload of up to 45 tons.
The aircraft can be converted for Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) missions thanks to a kit that can accommodate stretchers and intensive-care stations.
As of April, Airbus had 84 orders for the A330 MRTT, of which 64 had been delivered. The jets operate in 17 nations.
